From Start To Finish, Stay Close To The Action

The Head Of The Charles® stretches 4,702 meters along the Charles River, bringing thousands of athletes and tens of thousands of spectators to Boston and Cambridge for three days of racing, community and celebration.

The Atlas puts you in the heart of it all, approximately 0.7 miles from the Regatta’s finish area at Herter Park and approximately 1 mile from the Boston University DeWolfe Boathouse, where the race begins.

THE START 

Watch crews queue for the race from the Dr. Paul Dudley White Bike Path, or head to the Boston University Bridge and DeWolfe Boathouse for views of the basin and start line.

THE STRETCH 

Follow the river through some of the course’s most compelling viewing points, including Magazine Beach, River Street Bridge, Western Avenue Bridge and the iconic Weeks Footbridge.

THE FINISH 

Watch crews complete the full 4,702-meter course at the dramatic finish line, then explore Attager Row and the Rowing & Fitness Expo nearby.

RACE ALONG THE CHARLES

    Only a 1 minute bike ride or 8 minute walk, the Western Avenue Bridge is a prime location for HOCR viewing, with less crowds to watch the "Powerhouse Stretch" with high speeds picking up before the tricky turn ahead.
