If you’re attending events on the main Harvard campus or in Harvard Yard, our team can help you navigate shuttle service or arrange a rideshare pickup from the front desk. On-site valet and self-parking are also available on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional Commencement Day parking at 111 Western Avenue on the HBS campus.

Positioned within Harvard’s growing Allston campus, the hotel offers easy access to ceremonies on both sides of the river and quick connections to Cambridge and downtown Boston.

The Atlas Hotel is less than one mile from Harvard Yard, Harvard Square, and the main Harvard University campus. You’ll be within a short 5 to 10 minute drive over the Western Avenue Bridge or an easy 10 to 20 minute walk across the John W. Weeks Footbridge. 

Graduate and professional schools hold additional celebrations across campus, including Harvard Business School’s Class Day and Diploma Ceremony on Baker Lawn. For these events, The Atlas is just across the street, less than a five minute walk to the Baker Library Lawn.

The Atlas is perfectly poised between Cambridge and downtown Boston, making every trip to campus easy:

  • Harvard (Harvard Square/Harvard Yard area): The Atlas is a 0.4 mile walk, bike or ride to Harvard Square. It’s about 2 minutes to drive, less than a 10 minute walk, or a 3 minute bike ride. The Atlas is located right across the street from Harvard Business School on Western Avenue in Allston.
  • Boston University: Boston University is a quick ride along the Charles River on Storrow Drive from The Atlas hotel to Kenmore Square, without having to cross through Cambridge. It’s a 7 minute drive and 10 minute bike ride.

The Atlas hotel recommends booking your stay as soon as you have a date. Commencement week is the busiest time of year for Boston’s hospitality industry. Booking early ensures you secure the right room for hosting your family.

Harvard University’s 376th Commencement Exercises are scheduled for Wednesday May 26 and Thursday, May 27, 2027 (with the main ceremony livestream starting at 8:30 AM).
